Former UFC Fighter Suman Mokhtarian Murdered in Sydney

The mixed martial arts (MMA) world is in mourning following the tragic death of Suman Mokhtarian, former UFC fighter and renowned coach. Mokhtarian, 33, was the victim of a shooting in Riverstone, west of Sydney, on Wednesday around 6 pm. Authorities believe it was a premeditated attack. Emergency services responded to Annaluke Street, where they found Mokhtarian with gunshot wounds. Despite the paramedics’ efforts, he died at the scene. Mokhtarian competed in the UFC in 2018 and 2019. After his retirement, he dedicated himself to coaching, playing a key role in the development of young MMA prospects at the Australian Top Team, alongside his brother Ashkan Mokhtarian. The police have established a crime scene and initiated an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the shooting.

New South Wales Police Statement
At approximately 6:15 p.m., emergency services were alerted to a vehicle fire on Riverstone Road, near Clark Street. Firefighters extinguished the flames, but the vehicle was destroyed. Police are investigating whether both incidents are related. A Mokhtarian student, Jesse Swain, shared a moving tribute on Instagram.
