Israel Adesanya seeks redemption against Joe Pyfer in Seattle
UFC middleweight ex-champion Israel Adesanya will try to break a three-fight losing streak when he faces Joe Pyfer on March 28 in Seattle. The announcement was made this Tuesday, generating great expectation among mixed martial arts fans.
This exciting matchup at 185 pounds will headline the UFC Fight Night event at Climate Pledge Arena.
Adesanya, with a record of 24-5, is widely recognized as one of the best middleweights of all time. However, he will be seeking his first victory since his impressive knockout over Alex Pereira in a title fight in 2023. He is currently on the longest losing streak of his MMA career, with losses to Sean Strickland, Dricus Du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov. Adesanya, 36, has not fought since his knockout loss to Imavov in February 2025.
Pyfer, with a record of 15-3, comes into this fight on a three-fight winning streak after suffering the first loss of his career in the UFC against Jack Hermansson in 2024. His last fight was a submission victory over Abus Magomedov in October.
In addition, a women’s flyweight bout between former champion Alexa Grasso (16-5-1) and Maycee Barber (15-2) was announced for the March 28 event.
