Blake Snell Activated by the Dodgers to Face the Rays

The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated pitcher Blake Snell to start Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Snell hasn’t pitched in the Major Leagues since April 2nd due to a left shoulder injury. He made four rehab starts in the minors, including a 4 1/4-inning outing last Saturday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 32-year-old pitcher, Snell, has participated in two games with the Dodgers this season, after signing a five-year, $182 million free agent contract in the offseason.

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Snell played last season with the San Francisco Giants and the previous three with the San Diego Padres.

On Saturday, Snell will face his former team, with whom he won the American League Cy Young Award in 2018 and received his only All-Star recognition.
