Shohei Ohtani continues to demonstrate his power at the plate. On Wednesday, the Japanese star hit his fifth consecutive home run, tying a historic record for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The last player to achieve this feat was Aaron Judge, star of the New York Yankees, who accomplished it last year. Ohtani, National League leader with 37 home runs, swung the bat in the first inning against Minnesota Twins pitcher Chris Paddack. The hit, a slow curveball, traveled 441 feet to center field.

With a day off on Thursday, Ohtani’s next opportunity to hit his sixth consecutive home run will be against the Red Sox in Boston.
