Milwaukee Puppies Sweep Dodgers: 6 Straight Losses for LA

2 Min Read

In an exciting encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Milwaukee Brewers achieved an epic victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, completing their first home sweep against this team in franchise history. Young Jackson Chourio became the hero of the game by hitting a single that drove in the winning run in the tenth inning, sealing the victory with a final score of 3-2.

A Historic Performance

This victory marks a milestone for the Brewers, as the only two previous sweeps against the Dodgers had occurred in Los Angeles, in May 2012 and August 2017. The Dodgers, leaders of the National League West Division, suffered their sixth consecutive loss, something they hadn’t experienced since April 2019.
In the top of the tenth inning, Milwaukee’s Trevor Megill demonstrated his dominance by striking out Freddie Freeman, Andy Pages, and Tommy Edman in impeccable order. In the lower part of the same inning, William Contreras started the attack with a deep fly ball to center field, advancing the automatic runner Sal Frelick to third base. Chourio, with his first walk-off hit of his career, hit a single that defined the game. The tie came in the ninth inning thanks to a single by Andrew Vaughn, who drove in Isaac Collins and put runners on the corners. Despite the efforts of Tanner Scott, who struck out Andruw Monasterio and retired Frelick, the game went to extra innings. The Dodgers’ opener, Tyler Glasnow, had an outstanding performance in his return from the injured list, allowing only one unearned run and two hits in five innings. For his part, Jose Quintana, from Milwaukee, pitched six solid innings, allowing one run and two hits. The Dodgers took the lead in the seventh inning, but couldn’t extend their advantage, as Nick Mears managed to get Freeman out with the bases loaded.
