New York Mets catcher Francisco Álvarez will undergo an MRI on his right thumb after getting injured during a headfirst slide into second base on Sunday night against Seattle. Álvarez, despite the injury, remained in the game after connecting a double in the seventh inning. However, he did not participate in the reception during the eighth inning in the Mets’ 7-3 victory over the Mariners in the MLB Little League Classic.
