Aaron Judge Climbs Yankees’ All-Time Home Run List
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge continues to make history. Last Friday night, Judge hit his 362nd home run, surpassing legend Joe DiMaggio and securing fourth place on the franchise’s all-time home run list.
This achievement comes just after Judge tied DiMaggio with two home runs at Yankee Stadium, in a game that coincided with the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Judge hit a home run against Boston pitcher Lucas Giolito, sending the ball over the famous “Green Monster” in the left-center field of Fenway Park.
Judge reached this mark in his 1,130th game. DiMaggio, for his part, played 1,736 games and hit his last home run on September 28, 1951, at the end of a 13-year career interrupted by his service in World War II.
With this home run, number 47 of the season, Judge also raised his batting average, the best in the league, to .324.
The previous Tuesday, Judge had already surpassed Yogi Berra to take fifth place on the Yankees’ all-time home run list. Babe Ruth leads the list with 659 of his 714 home runs with the Yankees, followed by Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493).
