Juan Soto Leaves Game with Foot Injury
The New York Mets’ star outfielder, Juan Soto, had to leave Tuesday night’s game against San Diego due to a left foot injury.
The situation occurred after Soto hit a foul ball in the fourth inning. He was seen in obvious pain, limping towards first base before collapsing.
After being reviewed by the coach and taking some swings, Soto completed his at-bat, ultimately being put out by second baseman Jake Cronenworth, who made an excellent defensive play.
The Mets team reported that Soto suffered a contusion on his foot.
Jeff McNeil shifted his position from center field to right field, while Tyrone Taylor entered the game batting third in the lineup and playing center field.
Up to that point, Soto maintained a batting average of .249, with 25 home runs and 62 RBIs.
Soto arrived at the Mets in December, after signing the largest contract in baseball history, a 15-year deal for $765 million.
