Enrique “Kike” Hernández Undergoes Elbow Surgery

Utility player free agent, Enrique “Kike” Hernández, underwent surgery on his left elbow this Friday. The injury, which he played with during the successful season of the Los Angeles Dodgers, culminated in the World Series victory.

Hernández, through his social media, reported on the surgical intervention. The player revealed that he played with the discomfort since the month of May, which will prevent him from participating with Puerto Rico in the next World Baseball Classic.

During the regular season, Hernández was on the injured list for more than a month due to elbow problems, but he returned to the team in August.

At 34 years old, Hernández batted .203 with 10 home runs and 35 RBIs in 92 games during the regular season. In the postseason, he contributed a .250 average, one home run and seven RBIs, helping the Dodgers secure their second consecutive title.
