Grayson Rodriguez will undergo elbow surgery and end the season
Philadelphia – Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Grayson Rodriguez will undergo elbow surgery that will end his season. The announcement was made by Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino before Monday’s game in Philadelphia.
Rodriguez began the season on the injured list due to inflammation in his right elbow that manifested during spring training. A rehabilitation outing scheduled for April 17 was canceled due to a strain in the latissimus dorsi muscle.
In July, the Orioles indefinitely sidelined Rodriguez, and Mansolino stated that the pitcher felt some discomfort in his elbow.
The player, selected in the first round of the 2018 draft, and who missed three months of the minor league season in 2022 due to a lat injury, hasn’t pitched in the majors since July 31, 2024. He finished last season on the injured list with a lat strain.
