San Francisco Giants Suffer Rotation Setback
The San Francisco Giants’ rotation has suffered a new setback. Right-handed pitcher Landen Roupp has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to elbow inflammation. The announcement was made on Friday, retroactive to Wednesday for Roupp. According to reports, an MRI revealed no structural problems. This situation leaves the Giants with only three regular starters: Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, and Justin Verlander.Roupp, 26, has a 7-6 record with an ERA of 3.11 in 20 starts. In his last outing, he allowed four hits and struck out six in five scoreless innings, in the 9-0 victory over Atlanta on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, San Francisco called up right-handed pitcher Tristan Beck from Triple-A Sacramento. Beck, 29, is 1-0 with a 5.14 ERA in 11 games (no starts) this season for the Giants.Constantly changing. We’ll probably have to make a move on Tuesday. We have to be prepared for anything.
