Landen Roupp Left the Game After Being Hit by a Line
SAN DIEGO – San Francisco Giants right-handed pitcher Landen Roupp had to leave the field after being hit by a line drive off the bat of San Diego Padres’ Ramón Laureano in the third inning of Wednesday night’s game.
The impact occurred on the back of Roupp’s right thigh, causing him to partially twist. Subsequently, his left knee bent and he fell to the ground face down. After being checked by the trainer, he sat up and was seen holding his left knee before being taken away on a cart.
Joey Lucchesi entered in relief of Roupp and gave up a three-run homer to Gavin Sheets, giving the Padres a 6-0 lead.
