Dodgers Set Rotation for the World Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers have confirmed their pitching rotation for the first two games of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to manager Dave Roberts. Blake Snell will start Game 1, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be the pitcher for Game 2. This decision replicates the pitching order used by the Dodgers in the first two games of the National League Championship Series, where they swept the Milwaukee Brewers in four games. In Game 1 of the previous series, Snell impressed with ten strikeouts in eight scoreless innings. Yamamoto, for his part, pitched a complete game in Game 2, allowing only three hits, marking the first postseason complete game for the Dodgers since 2004. The team has not yet defined the starters for games 3 and 4, which will be played at Dodger Stadium. However, Roberts suggested that Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani could be next in the rotation.

I think we’re going to repeat the same rotation, for sure for the first two games.

Dave Roberts, Dodgers Manager
Ohtani, who was named MVP of the National League Championship Series, had an outstanding performance in Game 4, including ten strikeouts and three home runs, securing the Dodgers’ place in the World Series for the second consecutive time. The Dodgers’ starters accumulated a total of 35 strikeouts in the National League Championship Series. Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow, and Ohtani recorded a combined ERA of 0.63 against the Brewers, allowing only two earned runs in 28¾ innings. Roberts also mentioned that the bullpen alignment is being evaluated, considering that the Blue Jays team presents right-handed power hitters, something the Dodgers did not face in the previous series. Reliever Tanner Scott is eligible for the World Series roster after being left off the National League Division Series roster due to emergency surgery. Manager Roberts indicated they are monitoring his recovery.
