Freddie Freeman, out of the Dodgers lineup due to neck issues

Los Ángeles – El All-Star Freddie Freeman no participó en la alineación de los Dodgers de Los Ángeles el miércoles debido a un problema nervioso en el cuello. Manager Dave Roberts reported that Freeman suffered a “stinger,” a condition that usually affects a network of nerves that extends from the neck to the shoulder and arm.

“It’s something that comes up, but it has manifested a bit in the last few days,” Roberts commented. “I think giving it a couple of days, with tomorrow’s day off, he’ll be back on Friday.”

Kiké Hernández was chosen to play first base instead of Freeman against the Cincinnati Reds. Hernández went 2-3 with a run scored on Tuesday in his first game since July 6, when he was placed on the injured list. Freeman, for his part, went 1-4 with a double in the Dodgers’ 6-3 victory on Tuesday. He currently leads the National League with a .302 average, seeking his first career batting title, and is tied for the league lead in doubles with 34. Gardener Alex Call was also out of the lineup due to a back problem that manifested itself while running the bases on Tuesday, according to Roberts.
