The [Los Angeles Dodgers](/mlb/team/_/name/lad/los-angeles-dodgers) entered the 2025 MLB regular season as the top favorites for the title in more than two decades, and are heading to the 2025 World Series as the undisputed favorites to win their second consecutive championship.
The Dodgers opened as favorites with -210 to win the World Series over the [Toronto Blue Jays](/mlb/team/_/name/tor/toronto-blue-jays), who started with +175, according to betting odds.
The series spread opened with Dodgers -1.5 (-115) against the Jays’ +1.5 (-105).
The Blue Jays defeated the [Seattle Mariners](/mlb/team/_/name/sea/seattle-mariners) in Game 7 of their American League Championship Series on Monday, sending Toronto to their first World Series since 1993.
If the Dodgers manage to get another Commissioner’s Trophy, they will do it as favorites from start to finish for the second consecutive season, becoming the first team to achieve that feat since the [New York Yankees](/mlb/team/_/name/nyy/new-york-yankees) in 1999 and 2000.
Despite their low odds throughout the season, even when they struggled at times, ultimately obtaining third place in the National League, the Dodgers had the support of the betting public.
Game 1 of the World Series is on Friday at the Rogers Centre. The home team Blue Jays opened at +125 on the money line, with the visiting Dodgers favored at -150.
