Dodgers Announce Rotation for World Series Start
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced their pitching rotation for the first two games of the World Series. Blake Snell will start Game 1 and Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound in Game 2, according to manager Dave Roberts. This decision replicates the pitching order used by the Dodgers in the first two games of the National League Championship Series, where they swept the Milwaukee Brewers in four games. Snell demonstrated his dominance in Game 1, achieving 10 strikeouts in eight innings without allowing any runs. He became the first Dodgers pitcher to complete eight innings with a maximum of one hit allowed in a postseason game. Yamamoto shone in Game 2, pitching a complete game and allowing only three hits, marking the first postseason complete game for the Dodgers since 2004. Manager Roberts indicated that the starting pitchers for Games 3 and 4, which will be played at Dodger Stadium, have not yet been defined, but suggested that Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani could be next in the rotation.Shohei Ohtani, who was named MVP of the National League Championship Series, had an outstanding performance in Game 4, with 10 strikeouts and three home runs, securing the Dodgers’ place in their second consecutive World Series. Dodgers’ starting pitchers combined for 35 strikeouts in the National League Championship Series. Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow, and Ohtani posted a 0.63 ERA against the Brewers, with only two earned runs allowed in 28⅔ innings. Roberts also mentioned that the bullpen configuration is still under discussion, given that the Blue Jays’ lineup features right-handed power hitters that the Dodgers did not previously face. Reliever Tanner Scott, who was removed from the National League Division Series roster, is eligible for the World Series roster. Scott underwent emergency surgery and is doing well. The team is awaiting full medical clearance for his participation.I think we’re going to stick with the same rotation, for sure for the first two games.
