Dodgers Announce Rotation for World Series Start

The Los Angeles Dodgers have confirmed their pitching rotation for the first two games of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Blake Snell will be the Game 1 starter, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2, as announced by manager Dave Roberts. This decision replicates the pitching order used by the Dodgers in the first two games of the National League Championship Series, where they swept the Milwaukee Brewers. Snell had an outstanding performance in Game 1, on October 13, with 10 strikeouts in eight scoreless innings. He became the first Dodgers pitcher to complete eight innings allowing only one hit or less in a postseason game. Yamamoto, for his part, pitched a complete game in Game 2, the first for the Dodgers in the postseason since 2004. Manager Roberts indicated that the starting pitchers for Games 3 and 4, which will be played at Dodger Stadium, have not yet been defined, but suggested that Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani could be next in the rotation.

I think we’re going to stick with the same rotation, for sure for the first two games.

Ohtani, with 10 strikeouts and three home runs in Game 4, secured the pass to the World Series and was named MVP of the National League Championship Series. Dodgers’ starters accumulated 35 strikeouts in the Championship Series. Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow, and Ohtani recorded an ERA of 0.63 against the Brewers, with only two earned runs allowed in 28⅔ innings. Roberts also mentioned that the bullpen is being evaluated, considering that the Blue Jays’ lineup presents right-handed power hitters that the Dodgers did not previously face.

There’s a position we could debate, and we’ll continue to debate. Outside of that position, it will probably look exactly the same.

Reliever Tanner Scott is eligible for the World Series roster after being removed from the National League Division Series roster due to surgery. The manager indicated that Scott is currently feeling well.

We’re just trying to get a full green light from the doctors. I know he’s anxious, which is good, but fortunately, we have a couple more days to see how he responds to throwing and bullpen sessions and things of that nature.
