Jackson Chourio Exits Game with Hamstring Injury

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio, who became the first player to get three hits in the first two innings of a postseason game, had to leave the first game of the National League Division Series against the Chicago Cubs due to a hamstring injury. Chourio hit a ground ball with the bases loaded down the third base line in the second inning. He got an RBI single that put the score at 9-1, but he moved strangely after passing first base. The 21-year-old player was attended to by manager Pat Murphy and head athletic trainer Brad Epstein before leaving the game. Isaac Collins entered as a pinch runner and remained in the game in left field. The Brewers achieved a 9-3 victory.

He’s having an MRI right now. Obviously, it’s something very concerning. Having the same hamstring injury in the same leg, we hope it’s something he can recover from soon.

Chourio also connected on a double as the first batter and a two-run single as part of the Brewers’ six-run offensive in the first inning. Last year, he capped off his rookie season with a 5-for-11 average with two home runs in the Brewers’ loss in the National League Wild Card Series against the New York Mets.

We have no idea when we’ll have news about Chourio. He just came out of the scanner. Someone will review it. It could be devastating.
