Braves’ Acuna Jr. to IL with Achilles tendon injury

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. was removed from Tuesday night’s game against Kansas City due to a right Achilles tendon issue and will be placed on the 10-day injured list.Acuña felt discomfort after chasing a ball in right field. He will be evaluated on Wednesday.

It’s something with Achilles, it’s going to take a while.

Snitker added that he expects the situation to be resolved in approximately 10 days.Acuña reported that he initially felt pain while running the bases on Monday night.

It happened when I scored from first to home on that play. I’m going to be examined tomorrow, so we’ll see how it goes.

The discomfort reappeared after Acuña ran after a foul ball in the sixth inning. Later in the inning, a ball was hit over his head, and he chased it. He left the game after the sixth inning.

It was hurting me even more. I was kind of hoping they wouldn’t hit it towards me, and of course, every time you do that, they always hit it towards you.
