Travis Bazzana, Guardians prospect, out with injury
Guardians prospect Guardians, Travis Bazzana, last year’s first overall pick in the amateur draft, will be out for at least eight to ten weeks due to a right oblique strain.
The second baseman felt discomfort after batting during Akron’s Double-A game in Chesapeake on May 14. An MRI revealed the strain.
Bazzana, 22, has a batting average of .252 with four home runs, 17 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 33 games with the RubberDucks.
The Australian native and former Oregon State standout will head to Cleveland’s spring training complex in Goodyear, Arizona, to begin his rehabilitation program.
