Víctor Pérez Joins LIV Golf: A New Chapter in His Career
French golfer Victor Perez has made a momentous decision by becoming the first player to leave the PGA Tour this year to join LIV Golf, the Saudi Arabian-funded league. The news was confirmed on Tuesday, announcing his incorporation into the Cleeks team. Pérez, who held joint membership on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, with three titles on the latter, only participated in the French Open this year outside of the PGA Tour schedule. His best result was a tie for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open. Pérez’s move comes after the departure of Frederik Kjettrup, who was relegated from LIV Golf after failing to finish among the top 48 in the points list. In 108th place in the FedEx Cup and at risk of losing his card, Pérez withdrew from the RSM Classic on Tuesday. The Cleeks are led by captain Martin Kaymer, along with Adrian Meronk from Poland and Richard Bland.Joining the Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to break barriers, perform at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game.
