French golfer Victor Perez becomes the first player to leave the PGA Tour this year to join the Saudi Arabian-funded LIV Golf circuit. The news was confirmed on Tuesday by the league, announcing his addition to the Cleeks.Perez, who held joint membership on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, has three European Tour titles. So far this year, he only participated in the French Open outside the PGA Tour schedule, achieving a ninth-place finish at the RBC Canadian Open as his best result. His arrival replaces Frederik Kjettrup, who was relegated from LIV Golf after not ranking among the top 48 in the points standings.Currently ranked 108th in the FedEx Cup and at risk of losing his card, Perez withdrew from the RSM Classic on Tuesday.
The Cleeks, led by Martin Kaymer as captain, have Adrian Meronk from Poland and Richard Bland, 52 years old, in their ranks.Joining Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to push boundaries, perform at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game.
