Tiger Woods Undergoes Seventh Back Surgery
The renowned golfer Tiger Woods has undergone his seventh back surgery, a procedure aimed at addressing the mobility and pain issues he has experienced. The intervention took place on Friday and focused on replacing a disc in the lower back.
Woods announced the news through his social media on Saturday, explaining that the surgery was performed in New York. In his post, he stated that this decision was crucial for his health and to address the recurring problems in his back.

In his message, Woods detailed that, after consulting with doctors and surgeons due to pain and decreased mobility, it was determined that he had a collapsed disc in the L4/5 region, disc fragments, and a compromised spinal canal. Woods opted for disc replacement, a decision that, according to him, he considers correct for his well-being.
The first of his seven back surgeries dates back to April 2014. In 2017, he underwent a fusion in his lower back. Subsequently, he achieved significant victories, including the Tour Championship and the Masters in 2019, where he secured his fifteenth major and his fifth green jacket.
In addition to back problems, Woods suffered a car accident in February 2021, in which he fractured his right leg and ankle, a situation that, according to him, almost resulted in amputation.
Since the accident, Woods has participated in only 15 tournaments, including four at the PNC Championship, where he can use a cart during the 36-hole event.
