Although he will not participate in the 125th edition of the US Open, Woods offered his recommendations through a video posted on Instagram.

Woods emphasized the importance of precision and strategy when playing at Oakmont. The golfer emphasized that missing the ball in the right places is crucial to avoid negative consequences. Oakmont Country Club has hosted the US Open on nine previous occasions, most recently in 2016.

Woods, 49, underwent surgery on March 11 to repair a rupture of the left Achilles tendon. The last official tournament he participated in was the 2024 Open Championship, where he failed to make the cut. Woods has faced various health problems throughout his career, including a sixth back surgery last September and the aftermath of a car accident in 2021.
