Stacy Lewis Announces LPGA Retirement at Season’s End
American golfer Stacy Lewis, a two-time major champion and former world number one, has confirmed that the current season will be her last on the LPGA Tour. The 40-year-old athlete made the announcement through an extensive post on social media.Lewis’s achievements in the field are numerous. She debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2009, after a distinguished career at the University of Arkansas, and achieved 13 victories. Among them, the titles at the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the 2013 Women’s British Open, both majors, stand out. Lewis was twice LPGA Tour Player of the Year (2012 and 2014) and ranks 14th on the career earnings list, with over $14 million earned in 374 events. In addition, she was part of four Solheim Cup teams as a player and then captained the team that defeated Europe in September 2024. In her message, Lewis expressed her affection for the LPGA Tour and her pride in the progress made, urging her colleagues to continue to promote the circuit both on and off the field.My body has told me it’s time. I never would have imagined that this golf journey would continue until 2025, but the time has come to put away the clubs.
