Sei Young Kim Crowned Champion of the BMW Ladies Championship

LPGA Tour veteran Sei Young Kim showcased her skills on the course by securing victory at the BMW Ladies Championship with an impressive final round of 67 strokes.

This triumph marks the 13th title in Kim’s career since she joined the circuit in 2015, ending a five-year winless streak, which dated back to the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020.

Kim, 32, completed the tournament with a total of 24 under par, with a score of 264 at the Pine Beach Golf Links, located on the Korean peninsula.

The South Korean golfer only made one mistake on the 3rd hole, but then reacted with six birdies on the rest of the course, comfortably securing her position ahead of her main competitor, Nasa Hataoka.

Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67 strokes, finishing at 20 under par, with a score of 268.

Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim shared third position, two strokes away, with rounds of 67 and 66 respectively.

Defending champion Hannah Green shot a round of 66 and finished in fifth place, tied with Yealimi Noh.

Lindy Duncan finished one stroke behind, sharing seventh place with Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who achieved the lowest round of the day with 63 strokes.

The previous week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple wins on the LPGA Tour this season, after winning a five-hole playoff in Shanghai.

Thitikul did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thai team at the International Crown next week.

After the International Crown, the LPGA’s Asian circuit will continue with two more events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
