In the framework of the Procore Championship, the captain of the United States team for the Ryder Cup, Keegan Bradley, has highlighted the unity and closeness of the team, describing it as “the most united team I have ever been a part of”. With 10 of the 12 members of the American team participating in the tournament, Bradley has taken the opportunity to strengthen ties and refine the strategy for the competition.
The decision to hold a kind of training camp at the event was made by Bradley at the beginning of his captaincy. Unlike the 2023 edition, where only two players participated in the Procore, this year several key members, including the world number one, Scottie Scheffler, have marked the tournament on their calendars. The Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black is just around the corner, to be held from September 23rd to 28th.It’s a lot of fun to be together as a team outside of the Ryder Cup because the Ryder Cup is very intense and stressful. So it’s fun to see the guys interact. It’s a bit more relaxed environment here.

For Bradley, this week represents an opportunity to strengthen team unity, including a dinner in which Bryson DeChambeau participated, as well as to observe the players and define the crucial pairings for the foursomes and four-ball formats. The captain has also highlighted the importance of preparing for the challenges that will arise in the competition.I think the players knew it was important. This Ryder Cup means everything to them. This group of players are true friends and they are off the golf course, something that in my previous teams I don’t know if we had as much as this group.

The ten team members present participated in a nine-hole practice round on Tuesday, paired with other team members. Collin Morikawa and Harris English played together, while Scheffler did so with Russell Henley and J.J. Spaun. Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Sam Burns, and Cam Young followed behind. Ben Griffin played with assistant captain Brandt Snedeker, who is also participating in the tournament. The team members will also play together during the Thursday and Friday rounds.It’s a lot of fun for me to be the captain in front of the guys and not be playing because when I’m out there playing I still have to be focused on that job and practicing and getting ready to play. I was chosen to do this job, to do it maybe a little bit differently too.

While the European team participates in the BMW Championship, Bradley has taken a page from his book with the Procore Championship, but remains focused on his team.One of our goals was for the guys to be prepared, ready to know who they are going to play with. Especially in alternate shot, I think that’s more important. We’re at 90%, I would say.

To be honest, I really don’t care what they’re doing, I really don’t care what the European team does. They are a confident group, they should be. They won the last Ryder Cup, their team is solid. Luke Donald is perhaps the best captain in history, someone I’ve always admired. So they should be confident, but I really don’t care, I only care about our team.
