Thorbjorn Olesen leads the 3M Open after a standout performance

In the TPC Twin Cities, Thorbjorn Olesen demonstrated his skill by overcoming several obstacles during Friday’s round, solidifying a one-stroke lead over Jake Knapp at the 3M Open. Olesen, after an impressive first round of 62 strokes, maintained his pace with a round of 66, culminating in a crucial birdie on the 9th hole. The 35-year-old Danish golfer managed to recover from a double bogey on the 15th hole with two consecutive birdies. Currently, Olesen is seeking his first victory on the PGA Tour, showing consistent play and determination.

“I think both days, my iron game has been really good. I hit a lot of shots very close to the hole and gave myself a lot of good opportunities. Today, there were like two or three bad drives that cost me, but I still felt pretty good over the ball”.

With a total of 14 under par and solid play, Olesen positions himself as a strong contender for the weekend. Jake Knapp, for his part, signed a card of 65 strokes, demonstrating a flawless game during the first two rounds. Pierceson Coody and Sam Stevens also stood out, both with rounds under par that keep them in the fight. Takumi Kanaya, Chris Kirk, and Matti Schmid are at eleven under par, which anticipates an exciting weekend. With the end of the regular season approaching, Knapp, Schmid, and Kirk are looking to secure their place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, where the top 70 players will advance to the next phase. Thorbjorn Olesen, with nine international victories to his name, seeks to add a new triumph to his career on the PGA Tour. Knapp, who hasn’t had any bogeys in the first two rounds, is looking for his first victory of the season on the PGA Tour. Adam Svensson, who was close to matching the course record on Thursday, had a complicated day on Friday. Byeong Hun An and Haotong Li, for their part, failed to make the cut.
