William Mouw Wins ISCO Championship

In an exciting golf day, William Mouw won the ISCO Championship, obtaining his first title on the PGA Tour. Mouw demonstrated his skill by registering an impressive round of 9 under par, culminating in a total score of 10 under par, with a total of 270 strokes.

Mouw’s victory was consolidated after a wait of almost two hours, while he observed the performance of his competitors. The tension reached its peak when Paul Peterson, who was leading the standings after the third round, missed a 55-foot birdie attempt on the 18th hole.

Mouw achieved his triumph in his twentieth participation in the PGA Tour.

The 24-year-old young golfer, former Pepperdine player, secured a two-year exemption and a spot in next year’s PGA Championship, although he failed to qualify for the Masters.

Peterson, for his part, finished the tournament with a round of 69 strokes, finishing one stroke behind the champion in this PGA Tour event, which also had the sanction of the European Tour.

Mouw started strong, getting birdies on the first three holes and adding two more on holes 7 and 8, completing the first round with a remarkable 30. In the second part of the course, he got birdies on holes 10, 11, 13 and 17, setting the lowest score in his short career on the PGA Tour.

Peterson, 37, also in his twentieth PGA Tour appearance, made a 24-foot birdie on the 14th hole and another 30-foot birdie on the 16th, finishing the round with pars on the last two holes.

Manuel Elvira finished in third place with 7 under par (66 strokes), followed by Vince Whaley (70) and David Skinns (70) with 6 under par.

Jackson Koivun, an Auburn student, finished in sixth place with 5 under par (68 strokes). Chan Kim, who led after the first rounds with 61 and 68 strokes, had rounds of 75 and 73 over the weekend, finishing in 14th place with 3 under par.

Peterson and Kim were some of the 12 players who completed the third round, which had been suspended.
