Thriston Lawrence Wins the European Masters

South African golfer Thriston Lawrence showed his mettle by recovering from a complicated start to conquer the European Masters in Switzerland. With a round of 66 strokes, four under par, Lawrence secured his fifth title on the European circuit.

Lawrence, who is currently ranked number 94 in the world, had a difficult start with bogeys on the first three holes. However, he recovered with an eagle on the 6th hole, after a 20-foot putt, and five birdies at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

Matt Wallace (67), Sami Välimäki (65) and Rasmus Højgaard (62) shared second place, two strokes behind the winner.

Matt Fitzpatrick, who is seeking to secure a place on the European Ryder Cup team, finished alone in fifth position, one stroke behind the second-placed players, after a round of 67.

This triumph marks Lawrence’s second title in 2023, after his victory at the BMW International Open in June.
