FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Jake Knapp is going through a time of deep sorrow following the passing of his girlfriend, Makena White, with whom he shared a two-year relationship. Knapp describes her as a selfless person full of energy. A friend of White shared the news on their Instagram account, stating that the death occurred earlier this week. The causes of death were not specified, and Knapp chose not to reveal details.
Knapp, a former UCLA player, secured his first PGA Tour victory during his rookie season at the Mexico Open last year. This year, he achieved an impressive 59 at the Cognizant Classic. White shared a photo of both of them at that tournament, celebrating two years of their relationship and “watching your dreams come true.” Knapp expressed his affection and admiration for White.“It’s an understatement to say how difficult this is to process for everyone who knew Makena, especially her family and friends, who deserve privacy and respect during this difficult time,” Knapp commented through his representative.

Knapp added that White had an incredible family, great friends, and that his cheerful and outgoing energy will be missed by all.“Makena was a very considerate person, whose generosity towards others I will always appreciate. We shared many unforgettable memories and now that she is no longer with us, it is a difficult reality to understand.
