Patton Kizzire withdrew from the PGA Championship during Friday’s second round due to an injury.

Information about the exact nature of the injury to 39-year-old Kizzire was not disclosed. At the time of his withdrawal, Kizzire was recording a score of 6-over par after 10 holes at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In Thursday’s opening round, Kizzire performed unevenly, finishing with 3 over par and a score of 74. This result included four birdies and seven bogeys.

With the projected cut at 1-over par at midday Friday, Kizzire (+9) faced little chance of advancing to the weekend before his withdrawal.

Kizzire, who has won three titles on the PGA Tour, had accumulated eight missed cuts in 2025. In addition, he withdrew from the Valspar Championship in March, after eight holes, due to a back injury. Before abandoning that tournament, he was seen throwing his putter across the green after missing a putt.

His third PGA Tour victory came in September 2024, at the Procore Championship in Napa, California. His best result in the current season was a tie for 20th the previous week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
