Sei Young Kim Extends Lead at the BMW Ladies Championship

HAENAM, South Korea – Sei Young Kim’s eagle on the 17th hole boosted her lead to four strokes before the final round of the BMW Ladies Championship, after signing a card of 69 strokes, three under par, this Saturday. In a windy and cloudy day at Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula, Kim finished with a total of three rounds of 19 under par, with 197 strokes, despite a bogey on the 18th hole. Yealimi Noh (67) and Nasa Hataoka (69) tied for second place. American Brooke Matthews, who had followed Kim to a shot after the second round, suffered a triple bogey on the 15th hole, par 3, and fell six strokes behind Kim, tying for fourth place after a round of 74. Defending champion Hannah Green signed a card of 68 strokes and was at 11 under par, eight strokes behind Kim, tied with her fellow Australian Minjee Lee, who completed a round of 71 strokes on Saturday. Brooke Henderson also recorded 71 strokes and is nine strokes behind the leader.

This tournament marks the first of two consecutive LPGA events in South Korea, with the International Crown team event scheduled for next week.
