Sei Young Kim Extends Lead at the BMW Ladies Championship
HAENAM, South Korea – An eagle on the 17th hole propelled Sei Young Kim to a four-stroke lead at the BMW Ladies Championship, after a round of 69 strokes, three under par, this Saturday.
In a windy and cloudy day at Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula, Kim completed three rounds with a total of 19 under par, 197 strokes, despite a bogey on the 18th hole.
Yealimi Noh (67) and Nasa Hataoka (69) are tied for second place.
American Brooke Matthews, who had followed Kim by one stroke after the second round, suffered a triple bogey on the par 3 of the 15th hole, falling six strokes behind Kim and tying for fourth place after a 74.
Defending champion Hannah Green signed a card of 68 strokes, finishing at 11 under par, eight strokes behind Kim and tied with her fellow Australian Minjee Lee, who played 71 strokes on Saturday. Brooke Henderson also completed the round with 71 strokes and was nine strokes behind the leader.
This is the first of two consecutive LPGA tournaments in South Korea, with the International Crown team event scheduled for next week. After the International Crown, two more LPGA events will be held on the five-event Asian tour: in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
