Linn Grant leads The Annika with a solid performance
Swedish golfer Linn Grant positioned herself at the top of The Annika after an outstanding round on Saturday, where she signed a card of 65 strokes (-5) and placed herself with a one-stroke lead. Grant, with an excellent demonstration at the Pelican Golf Club, sank two 15-foot putts and added five birdies. Her performance puts her at 14 under par (196), solidifying her position as the favorite. The Swedish golfer seeks to extend her winning streak to six consecutive years, maintaining a high level on the circuit. Jennifer Kupcho, with a bogey-free game, is one stroke behind Grant. Meanwhile, Nataliya Guseva, with seven birdies in the last ten holes, and Grace Kim, winner of the Evian Championship, are two strokes behind the leader.Grant has managed to keep his game bogey-free for 35 holes, preparing for the final round. The 26-year-old golfer is going for her second LPGA victory. Jennifer Kupcho, despite the waits on the course, stayed close to Grant during the day. Kupcho attributed the slow pace to the course playing shorter. The current champion, Nelly Korda, who hasn’t achieved any victories this year, approached the top with three birdies in four holes. However, a missed putt on the 18th hole left her six strokes behind the leader. Korda commented on his performance, highlighting the difficulty of the day and the importance of the last holes.I’ve hit a lot of greens. I think that’s been my secret this week. I trust my iron game a lot, I feel like I can go for the pins. I’m having a lot of fun out there.
