Tommy Fleetwood Leads the Indian DP World Championship

The golfer Tommy Fleetwood continues his excellent season finale by taking the lead at the DP World India Championship. With an impressive round of 64 strokes, eight under par, Fleetwood is positioned at the top of the leaderboard, with a one-stroke lead going into the middle of the tournament. Fleetwood, who recently earned his first PGA Tour title by winning the Tour Championship and stood out as the top points scorer in the Ryder Cup for the European team, is now at the top of this prestigious tournament in India. The Englishman, currently in 5th place in the world ranking, achieved eight birdies in an impeccable second round, without bogeys, to reach a total of 12 under par for the week. Shane Lowry and Brian Harman, both former Open champions, share second place, one stroke behind Fleetwood. Lowry carded a 69, while Harman completed his round with a 65.

The course at the Delhi Golf Club, with its trees and narrow fairways, presents a unique challenge for all of us.

He mentions that club selection has been limited, emphasizing the importance of placement and decision-making. Ben Griffin, Ryder Cup rookie, is in a tie for seventh place at 8 under par. Rory McIlroy, who chose not to use his driver, had a variable performance. Despite some consecutive bogeys, he managed to recover with birdies in the last holes, finishing the round with 69 strokes. McIlroy is at 6 under par, sharing position with Viktor Hovland. Upon finishing his round at the Delhi Golf Club, McIlroy greeted Sachin Tendulkar, Indian cricket legend and special guest of the tournament.
