GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Stewart Cink showcased his skill by successfully defending his title at The Ally Challenge, securing his second victory of the year on the PGA Tour Champions. Cink prevailed over Ernie Els in an exciting playoff, defining the outcome with a par on the first hole. Cink, with a final round of 68 strokes, four under par, managed to tie with Els thanks to birdies on two of the last three holes. Els, for his part, completed the course with 69 strokes, keeping calm with pars on the last five holes.

I’m not sure if this adds or subtracts years to your life, because it’s quite stressful. But if you’re the one who wins, if you’re on that side of the coin, then it feels great. It was a lot of fun. I putted really well down the stretch. Ernie wasn’t doing anything wrong, he was just in the wrong place today.

The 52-year-old golfer had already triumphed at the Insperity Invitational in May, also in a playoff against Retief Goosen. Throughout his career, Cink has accumulated eight PGA Tour victories, highlighting his victory at The Open in 2009. Cink started the tournament with an impressive round of 62 strokes, followed by 71 on Friday, which left him one stroke behind Els before the final round. Steven Alker, Cameron Percy, and Soren Kjeldsen shared third place with a total of 12 under par. Retief Goosen and Thongchai Jaidee finished with 11 under par.
