Professional golfer Charley Hull was forced to withdraw from the Evian Championship, held in France, on Thursday due to illness. The incident occurred on the tee of hole number 4, where Hull collapsed.

Hull, currently ranked number 19 in the world, shared a group with Ruoning Yin, number 4 in the world, and Haeran Ryu.

After collapsing on the grass before her tee shot, Hull received medical attention. Officials allowed the following group to play while the English golfer was attended to.

After a break of almost 15 minutes to receive treatment, Hull, winner of two LPGA titles, recovered to make the tee shot. However, after completing her swing, she fell to the ground again.

She was assisted onto a motorized cart equipped with a flat stretcher. According to reports, Hull has been battling a virus.

At the time of her retirement, Hull, 29, was at par. She has yet to win a major and finished T-12 at the Women’s PGA Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open in 2025.
