Bradley Seeks Revenge: Intensive Preparation for the Ryder Cup

The captain of the U.S. team for the Ryder Cup, Keegan Bradley, revealed that several key players plan to participate in a PGA Tour Fall Series event. This strategic decision seeks to optimize preparation for the crucial confrontation against the European team at Bethpage Black at the end of September. This measure is particularly relevant after the defeat of the American team against Europe in the 2023 edition, where the final score was 16.5-11.5 in favor of the European team. The lack of competition for most American players between the Tour Championship and the Ryder Cup (a period of more than four weeks) was a factor that generated doubts. In contrast, the twelve European players maintained their competitive level by participating in the BMW PGA Championship, held two weeks before the Ryder Cup.

Nobody is obligated to go. The guys feel this is the best way to be ready to play at their peak at Bethpage.

Bradley emphasized that, although it will not be mandatory, he anticipates players will sign up for the Procore Championship in Napa, California, starting September 11th. This tournament will serve as preparation for the Ryder Cup, which will be played two weeks later on Long Island. Bradley himself, currently ranked number 10 in the world, is considering participating in this event if selected for the team. His outstanding season, crowned with a victory at the Travelers in June, positions him favorably in the Ryder Cup standings. The top six in the standings qualify automatically, and Bradley, as captain, will select another six players on August 27th.
