Highlights of the meeting
Boston Common Golf vs. Los Angeles GCThorbjornsen’s debut was not as expected
Thorbjornsen, in his first appearance at the TGL, surely didn’t expect his first shot at the SoFi Center to end up in a bunker. To make matters worse, the rookie’s shot bounced back into the bunker. Boston lost the hole, giving LA a 1-0 lead.
Rory ties the score for Boston
The advantage of Los Angeles didn’t last long, as McIlroy hit a perfect shot from 92 yards, leaving the ball just 9 feet from the hole. After Rose missed a shot, LAGC declined a “hammer throw”, giving the point to Boston and tying the match 1-1.
Theegala scores from 70 feetTheegala pressured Boston Common on the 4th hole, achieving an impressive shot from just over 70 feet. The shot put Los Angeles in a position to extend their lead, so the team used the “hammer” to make the hole worth two points.
Thorbjornsen’s Response
Thorbjornsen responded to Theegala with a crucial shot on the 4th hole, sinking a putt to tie the hole and maintain LA’s lead at 2-1.
Boston regains the lead on the 12th holeThe duel between Theegala and Thorbjornsen continued in the individual part of the match, facing each other on the 12th hole. Thorbjornsen rose to the occasion again, sinking a 17-foot putt to give Boston Common a 6-5 lead.
