Josele Ballester Crowned Champion at the Saudi International
Spanish golfer Josele Ballester won the Saudi International, securing his first professional victory with an outstanding performance.
Ballester, former U.S. amateur champion, turned in a card of 65 strokes (-6) in the final round, culminating the tournament with a total of 262 strokes (-22), three ahead of his closest pursuer.
The event, which marked the closing of the Asian Tour International Series, saw Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent and Japan’s Yosuke Asaji secure the two spots for LIV Golf in the upcoming season.
Vincent, who was already part of LIV Golf in 2024, failed to stay in the Saudi Arabian-funded league, finishing in 50th place.
Ballester, with experience in college golf at Arizona State, joined the Fireballs team in LIV Golf last summer, achieving two top 10 finishes in six appearances.
Caleb Surratt (69) finished in second position, while Anthony Kim (70) tied for fifth place, eight strokes behind the leader, marking his best result since his return to golf in LIV last year, after a 12-year absence.
