RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Former U.S. amateur champion Josele Ballester claimed victory at the Saudi International, securing his first professional win.
Ballester, who closed with an impressive round of 65 strokes (-6), secured the title with a three-stroke lead.
This event marked the closing of the International Series on the Asian Tour.
Scott Vincent, from Zimbabwe, and Yosuke Asaji, from Japan, topped the ranking, thus securing their participation in LIV Golf for next year.
Vincent, who was part of LIV Golf in 2024, finished in 50th place and was relegated from the Saudi Arabian-funded league.
Ballester, with experience in college golf at Arizona State, joined the Fireballs team in LIV Golf last summer, achieving two top-ten finishes in his six appearances.
The Spanish golfer started the final round one stroke behind and finished with a total of 262 strokes (-22), surpassing Caleb Surratt (69) by three strokes.
Anthony Kim (70) tied for fifth place, eight strokes back, marking his best performance since his return to golf in LIV last year, after a 12-year hiatus.
