Richard Green Wins at the Rogers Charity Classic
CALGARY, Alberta – Australian golfer Richard Green won the Rogers Charity Classic, securing his first PGA Tour Champions title this Sunday. Green sealed the victory with a birdie on the 18th hole, a par 5, finishing the day with a score of 65 strokes, five under par, and a one-stroke lead. Green defeated Ricardo González, the Argentinian player who also had an outstanding performance, with birdies on the last two holes of the Canyon Meadows course, signing a round of 65 strokes.Richard Green from Australia during the tournament.
The 54-year-old golfer achieved this victory in his 71st participation in the over-50s circuit. Green finished the tournament with a total of 18 under par, with initial rounds of 65 and 62 strokes. Miguel Ángel Jiménez, leader of the Charles Schwab Cup and who topped the leaderboard after the second round with two consecutive rounds of 63 strokes, finished in third place with a total of 16 under par, after a round of 68 strokes. Jiménez leads the circuit this season with four victories. Charlie Wi finished in fourth place with 14 under par, after recording his second consecutive round of 64 strokes.
