Max Verstappen won the Las Vegas Grand Prix for the second time! The Dutch driver kept his championship hopes alive, surpassing Lando Norris, who initially took second place. However, a dramatic turn shook up the competition. Norris and his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri, were disqualified for illegal wear on the underfloor of their single-seaters. The decision was made five hours after the race, generating a significant impact on the standings. Verstappen now equals Piastri in points, while Norris’s lead is reduced to 24 points. With a maximum of 58 points available in the two remaining races, including a sprint race at the Qatar Grand Prix, the excitement in Formula 1 is at its peak.

Verstappen dominated the Las Vegas race, winning by almost 21 seconds, while Norris experienced problems with his car in the final laps. Norris’s disqualification benefited the Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who now occupy podium positions. Piastri, who finished in fourth place, failed to overtake his teammate Norris, a streak that dates back to his victory at the Dutch Grand Prix. Verstappen, after a complicated start after the summer break, has resurfaced strongly, winning four of the seven races since then. In the first lap, Verstappen took control of the race, taking advantage of a mistake by Norris in turn 1. Although Russell tried to get close to Verstappen, his lead was never in danger. McLaren hoped to catch Verstappen in the final laps, but Norris’s problems delayed him. Piastri, who started fifth, had a complicated start, but managed to avoid an incident at turn 1. A timely pit stop and a penalty for a jump start for Antonelli allowed Piastri to move up to fourth place before being disqualified. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished sixth (now fourth) behind Antonelli. Lewis Hamilton, also of Ferrari, advanced from the back of the grid to tenth place (now eighth). It was a disappointing weekend for Ferrari. Carlos Sainz from Williams finished seventh (now fifth), followed by Isack Hadjar from Racing Bulls and Nico Hülkenberg from Sauber.
