Lance Stroll Cleared for Canadian Grand Prix After Wrist Treatment
Pilot Lance Stroll has been cleared to compete in the Canadian Grand Prix, his home race, after undergoing a medical procedure on his wrist, as confirmed by Aston Martin. Stroll withdrew from the Spanish Grand Prix after qualifying due to pain in his hand and wrist. The team explained that the discomfort was related to surgery performed in 2023, the result of a bicycle accident during the preseason, which caused multiple fractures. Aston Martin couldn’t replace Stroll for the race in Spain, as the driver completed the qualifying. They also didn’t have another driver in the FP1 practice session, which prevented the possibility of replacing him with a reserve driver.
Stroll expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the track. We are pleased to confirm that Lance Stroll will be back with the team competing in Montreal this weekend. He underwent a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week. Lance feels fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.
Aston Martin
I’m excited to be back behind the wheel with the team for my home grand prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I feel good after my procedure and did some laps at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you this weekend!
