Piastri Flies in Qatar GP Practice: Norris Second, Alonso Stands Out

Oscar Piastri led the only practice session of the Qatar Grand Prix, demonstrating outstanding performance. Piastri beat his McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, by 0.058 seconds. Norris leads the championship with a 24-point advantage. This penultimate Grand Prix of the year is presented as a sprint weekend, which adds excitement to the competition. Eight additional points will be awarded to the winner of the sprint race, totaling 33 points available for the winner, including the Grand Prix on Sunday. Fernando Alonso placed in third position, 0.386 seconds behind the leader. Max Verstappen finished in sixth position, while Lewis Hamilton was in 12th place. The classification for Saturday’s sprint race will begin at 2:30 p.m. local time (5:30 p.m. GMT).
