Ferrari Confirms Support for Fred Vasseur Amidst Rumors
Ferrari chairman John Elkann has reiterated the company’s “full confidence” in Formula 1 team boss Fred Vasseur, amid speculation about his future. Vasseur received a multi-year contract extension in July. However, recent reports suggest that Elkann has been considering Christian Horner, former Red Bull boss, to replace him next year. Horner could return to F1 in the spring of 2026, after reaching an agreement with his former team. The news comes at a time when Ferrari is approaching the end of a season without wins in major races.
Ferrari hasn’t won an F1 championship since the constructors’ in 2008. Kimi Raikkonen’s title in 2007 remains the last one won by a Ferrari driver.I want to express our full confidence in our team principal, Fred Vasseur, and in the work he is doing together with all our colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari, the mechanics, engineers and drivers competing this weekend in Austin.
