India Defines its Lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the next Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav completes the lineup as the third fast bowler. The main questions India faced before the match included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, despite the pressure from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice games, was kept in the starting lineup. Although his recent scores were not high, it was considered important to maintain continuity in the lineup. The titular spinner, especially with the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury, also retained his place in the team.
As for the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant, prioritizing his superior wicketkeeping skills, especially with the pink ball. Yadav was selected as the third pitcher, highlighting his experience and good performance in the practice game.India’s Line-up: 1 Mayank Agarwal, 2 Prithvi Shaw, 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, 4 Virat Kohli (c), 5 Ajinkya Rahane, 6 Hanuma Vihari, 7 Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 8 R Ashwin, 9 Umesh Yadav, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Jasprit Bumrah
