India reveals its lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw will represent India in the Adelaide Test, with Umesh Yadav as the third fast bowler. The team resolved the doubts about the starting lineup before the match. Shaw, despite the pressure from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches, retained his place as an opener. Although his scores in the practice games were not high, the team opted for continuity at the top of the batting order.
In the case of the bowler, Ashwin, he was kept in the team, especially with the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury. The decision to play with Ashwin was similar to the one made in the 2014-15 series in Australia. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant, valuing his wicketkeeping skills, especially with the pink ball and the game conditions. Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing Ishant Sharma, due to his experience and performance in practice matches. India’s Line-up: 1 Mayank Agarwal, 2 Prithvi Shaw, 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, 4 Virat Kohli (capt.), 5 Ajinkya Rahane, 6 Hanuma Vihari, 7 Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 8 R Ashwin, 9 Umesh Yadav, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Jasprit Bumrah.
