India reveals its lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the next Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers. These were the main questions India contemplated before the Test: maintaining confidence in Shaw, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, who has been under pressure, competes with Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches. Shaw demonstrated his potential with an outstanding performance in New Zealand. Despite low scores in practice games, continuity in the starting lineup was a key factor in his selection.
The titular spinner, Ashwin, also retained his place, especially due to the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury. The decision not to include Ashwin in a series-opening match has been criticized in the past. Although the possibility of not including a spinner in the match was considered, Ashwin has proven his worth. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant. The team management prioritized Saha’s skills as a wicketkeeper, especially with the pink ball. Yadav is shaping up to be India’s third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma. Yadav impressed in the practice match, demonstrating his experience and skill.India’s Line-up: Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah.
